Have been to see two jobs today, one was a waste of time as they were not in, looks like the place was empty as well, the one in gillingham was ok, they had a white german shephard, she was very friendly, although the man of the house said to me she does not like men as a rule, what does that make me I wonder, haha!! anyway got to price the work up for them.
But tomorrow going to see a job in Holborough, I think I might have said in an earlier blog post, this one is the fourth job we have had in the area, in fact they are all neighbours , working our way down the block.
Hope you have had a good day.
See you all soon!!

What a lovely day, thought this morning though it was not going to happen. Been trying to set up my printer with the new laptop, windows 8, no joy, need the USB lead I think but cannot find it, every other lead yes, but not that one. Will have to buy one tomorrow, so if any one is waiting for a paper quote bear with me, oh emailing them is so much easier, and cheaper.
It will not pick up the printer, its logged into the Hub, both the printer and the laptop, but for some reason it will not print, has got 4 documents pending.
I will sort it eventually.
See you all soon!!

I have been in the office and visiting West Malling today, a garden scheme with Indian Sandstone in mind, a paving area of around 40 sq m so all is good. The general pattern is four sizes which comes in pack form, I get the stone locally and they split the packs which makes life easier, no more having to buy a whole pack just for a few slabs. Fossil Mint, Raj Green are the most popular tints, so it may well be one of those.
Some digging out to create the pattern, and channel drainage to install next to the house line.
It was cold today, that wind in this area was very keen!! hoping the warmer weather starts to arrive soon, and the jet stream flows upwards instead of downwards.
Going back to rochester tomorrow to start the concreting, Neil is back off holidays so all is good. Also a small amount of paving to be done as well.
See you all soon!!

Saturday nearly over, got everything done, no snow yet, thats good, but I think we will get some though. Designing the garden in chatham that I saw today, using the Oakham Pattern, this is great for general garden schemes. Looks fab when its done. Mellow stone or autumn gold to choose from. Easy access and plenty of room makes the whole scheme a must get. Using the software for this one also so the price will be correct. See you all soon!!

Sorted the day out, plan to go and see the work this afternoon, and then some paperwork, how about you what is your day going to be like. Have now software for creating quotes for decking and patios, takes all the guess work out of it and gives the customer a better price. Good news for everyone!! It allows skips if needed, and gives a material list also, allows for any special offer price, and wastage. All ready for the year ahead!! Dont forget this month is special offer month! See you all soon!!

I received an order today thats in a awkward area to say the least, its a fence which is near the traffic lights and the mosque in chatham hill, great!! still its work. Just got to organise the rubbish clearance firm to collect the items from the garden first. So if you see our sign in that area drive carefully.

Have now another order come through, that makes three this week so far, and its only Tuesday, thank you so much.
This time of year gives you an option to plan ahead for next spring, get the garden in order now and reap the benefits next year. And if we have a mild winter than you can spend time enjoying it sooner.
See you all soon!!

Good day today went down to Sittingbourne to see a job, this one is very easy a patio and a fence, and perhaps further paving of the garden, two brick built flower beds on either side of the plot complete with a small retaining wall with steps up to the slightly higher area. Very simple and easy.

Well where did the morning go, or the weekend come to that, back to work tomorrow. Saw a job today in Walderslade, nice lady wants some paving done in her front garden, she did have someone to do it for her but when they turned up they said that they had a bigger job to do and left, not the way to treat customers, still on a plus note and every cloud, I can do it cheaper for her, so whoever you were, your lost.
See you all soon!!

Just seen a driveway scheme in Rainham kent, also some bricks walls with pillars. The customer has the blocks so just the other materials and labour time. We do a firmer base then anyone else, so you dont get that sinking feeling after about 18 months. See you all soon!!

Well that was Saturday, goes too quick, went to Newchurch today measure for a patio, slate this one, very attractive material and hard wearing. Slate comes in different thicknesses, as a general rule about 25mm to 30mm thick, I do not advise laying any thinner, comes in tones of grey to blue black and green. Great for giving the area to be paved a rich, and warm feeling. Like all natural products used for paving they attract the natural growth, but this can be washed or even brushed off without too much trouble. The colour is more stable also. It maybe a little more money than say manmade slabs but they will last years if looked after.

We have today been thinking a great deal. See the last blogs. I am not usually so indecisive but this has to right. The pound sign syndrome, I think its called. But its not going to be worth it if I only come away with £100 at the end of it. And it is precisely that which makes me think. I have priced it to the best of my ability, covered all. The drawing was a little hard to follow because it was done by some other company requested by the customer before I can onto the scene. Still thinking.com See you all soon!!

Well I have slept on my decision, and still not sure, a while back I was taken for about £2000 through absolutely no fault of mine or the work we done, in fact the work was up and beyond our standard we set ourselves. But the man just decided not to pay the full amount, dealings are taking place to get the money but thats another story. I guess its the thought of it happening again, as the money owed was from a very large job. I know I will have to make a decision very soon. Talked it over with my co worker Neil who has said we should do the work. But something in the back of my mind is still saying "be careful" See you all soon, and if anyone has an old crystal ball that works let me have a go.

There comes a time when you have to decide what you want, its either getting work that makes you happy, or getting work that might cause you grieve. We all want to do well and earn a good wage, but not at the expense of maybe losing ones head over it. Choosing what to do is somewhat of a task on its own, what ever you tend to decide will always be, in my case anyway, the wrong one and the regrets kick in. Passing the buck seems a good option most of the time. But when you are working for yourself the buck always stops with you. So I must make a decision and soon, I think I might sleep on it. See you soon!!

Went to Pembury today, to quote for a Deck to be built. The customer had an eight month old boxer puppy, very friendly. Hope to get the work as its a simple flat deck with lights, also a special feature in the middle of one side. A bench with two flower beds made from the deck boards. The bench needs to be able to store items in complete with a lid to open. should be good when finished. See you all soon!!
