Sundays

Fields at the end

Sunday, my best day of the week, as is probably to many also, very peaceful here as usual.  Going to see the job in Rochester later this morning, in view to making a start soon.

Very sunny day at the moment, lets hope it will last.   Had breakfast, and just lazying about before the off.

How is everyone spending there  Sunday,  whatever you are doing hope its good for you.

It must be 9 am as the church bell is starting to ring, that says to me Sunday has begun.

Sounds like I am in the countryside, well about 600 yards from it I guess, fields at the end of my road and then another half a mile I am in farmland.  But go the other direction and I am in the town, so a nice spot.

So whatever you are doing this Sunday have a great day.

See you all soon!!

Going Back

Sunday was as expected, a calm day, weather was good as well.  The time in the morning just flew past as I was  doing  some pricing and emailing, the afternoon was resting.

Going to the walderslade job tomorrow to finish the path and start the flower beds.

Cannot wait to go back to the minster job after the customer has come back off holiday, even if its just to take some pictures, cannot wait to show them to you.

Had some schemes to go and view soon so all is well in the camp.

See you all soon!!

All going well

Its all taking shape now, the working year is going well more schemes coming in, another order today, and a brand new garden starting soon.

See you all soon!!

Work is picking up

Thats another week over, finished the main work at Minster, we have agreed with the customer to go back in about two weeks to carry on with the  mop stick  rails and facing, they have a family situation to deal with and then a short holiday, so watch out for the pictures to come, but they are very pleased with it.

Starting the Walderslade bespoke scheme on Monday, this is a blank garden, just soil, so nothing to prepare as such.  Its a block paving pathway, some raised beds using  circular  posts cemented into the ground, a circle shape lawn, so all looks good.

This week has flown buy, weather again played its part, mostly dry, so was able to get on well.

The deck in minster has created a fantastic view, we used metal railings as the  hand railing  in the front so not to block the view, other areas we did the timber spindles and rails.  Works really well.

This type of railing, the metal one, is a little more but if you want a different look to your deck then give this some thought, ask for it when you contact us, looks great.

Inquires are coming in now and starting to pick up, the website is still attracting many visitors and blog comments.  Whatever you are doing today, have a great time.

See you all soon!!

Nothing too Taxing

Apart from trying to get my printer working, which is almost new I  hasten  to add, and my new laptop windows 8, it has been a good day, getting everything I need for tomorrows job, its the minster one, it was my father in laws  birthday today 78 years, still driving ok, still thinks he is a boy racer though he has slowed down in the past few months.

All quiet now in the household lovely, waiting for my daughter Hayley and granddaughter Amber to call in to pick up some astro turf for her Guinea  pigs, only to cover at night I think, also a granite slab for the rabbit to keep her cool.

Hope everyone is now getting out into the garden to see what needs doing, and getting on the phone as I write, hope so, good to hear from you.

I am now getting restless so I thought I would write a little, bored mainly, cannot sit still, I like to be busy, especially on the laptop, nothing too taxing.    Been a good weekend hope yours has too.

See you all soon!!

Listings

Another Sunday where are these weeks going, Amber, my granddaughter has gone to see her first 3D film today, hope she will tell me all about it later, have fun.

Me, I have listed some items on Ebay, again, having a clear out, three gardening books, a complete set of weekly mags in hard backed folders, an office chair.  Have a look for them. Or email me peter117195261@gmail.com for details.

Looking ahead for to another week of paving.  I really hope the weather sorts itself soon.

Hope you all having a nice weekend

See you all soon!!

Corner Desk

The weekend has been good, sorting out the quotes and getting them sent off, looking ahead to the week some small jobs to do.

The weather today has been great very spring like, may it continue, looks like it might for a while.

Paper work all done so that's out of the way, tax bill has been paid on time, well that was last month anyway, got to keep the tax man happy.

Waiting for the go ahead on some work that's been priced up, looking good.

If any one would like to buy a computer corner desk hardly used in very good condition 900mm x 900mm in the corner.  Light wood. Would like £75

See you all soon!!

Hooray I hear you cry

What a lovely day, the sun is out and all is well in the Medway area, well my bit of it anyway, finished a quote for a local job, hope to hear soon.

Getting ready for Sunday lunch, and later sorting the week ahead.

Not much to say today, hooray I hear you cry, been good day so far.

Spring must be around the corner, hope the weather holds for us all.

See you all soon!!

Early Pointers

Quite a day today seen three jobs and quoted two, got one order come in, and the snow has gone.

Starting with a new guy tomorrow, and looking good.  Everything is set up so far, and lets hope the weather holds.

The special offer is nearly over, but have done some figures for the year and early pointers are looking ok.  A great start.

See you all soon!!

2013 is here

The first sunday I have been able to write for a while, done the quotations waiting for the outcome.

What have you done for new year, are the resolutions broken already? or are we going to stick to them a little while longer.  Me mine is to keep up to date with the paperwork, did that last year, it lasted for about two months, all went well then as we get very busy there is not enough time to deal with it, but I have a new system in place this year so hopefully we get it done all year.

I wonder how many of us are going on a diet, give up smoking, give up drinking and so on, me I am the boring type, I dont have to give these up because I dont have to, lucky? no, but if you have made a commitment to do any of these I wish you luck with it.

The gardens now are getting ready for the spring and its a great time to get them sorted, perhaps in some small way we can help you do this, a great product is the astro turf, getting very popular with those of us who like a lawn to look great all year, and is very low maintenance, time is against us all so this product is great for saving time. Patios and Decking seemed to look after themseleves we get ask for these more often than any other service we offer, maybe because we specialise in them both.

We hope you have a good start to the new year and we hope to hear from soon.

See you all soon!!

Types of Grass

Have seen another job today in Gillingham.  A fair size garden, needs a little attention, then either a patio or a deck, and the rest laid to lawn.

Cold out there today, minus 3 this morning with a hard frost.  Sunny day though so its makes it look warmer.

Getting ready for the week ahead, and quoting for the jobs I have seen recently.   Hope you all having a good Sunday where ever you are.   The picture is the one of the types of artificial lawn we are selling, we can supply only or supply and fit.  View the site for more details.  It is very realistic and pays for itself in time. Four types are on offer at great prices compared to other suppliers, 2m and 4m wide rolls and can be cut to  length.

Sending off the cash application form for a local supplier, hope to hear from them soon.  Working local again next week so not too bad.   Weather is going to get warmer tomorrow a whole 9 degrees, heat wave get the deck chairs out.

Dinner is on the go smells lovely.

See you all soon!!

Paperwork

Sorting the paperwork is always a bit of a chore, but it has to be done, filing is my least liked job, dont mind the computing, but hate filing.

In home office I have a number of files each with its own section so I should not complain too much.

Looking ahead to the working week, and will be pleased when the brick work is done, then at least we can start on my favourite job of decking.

As said and many of you know our decking is built to last, using screws not nails, and creating that family friendly structure.  We have been asked many times about the timber we use, well its all pressured treated, the frame is made from C24 treated wood and the decking has had the same treatment, so you can assured that it will last for years to come.

Anyway back to the paperwork, must not slack!!  See my blog on the home-made decking cleaner to keep the deck looking good.

See you all soon!!

Car over the edge

Well for those who follow my blog I hope there is not a repeat outcome, the one like last week when we had a visitor in the front garden, remember the car over the edge, I hope my father in law takes note that when we say not to park there we mean it for his safety.

If it happens again he might not be so lucky.

Sounds harsh from me I hear you say, but, we only want him to stay around.

Take care all.

See you all soon!!

Car Parking on a Sunday

Well that was an exciting morning, my father came over as usual for his Sunday dinner, nothing wrong with that I hear you cry, nothing at all normally, outside our house we have a flat section that he sometimes gets near the edge when he parks his car.  We have said to him about how close he gets, but he still manages to park OK  until, this morning, apart from the usual revving of the engine which is again normal as he is heavy on the clutch, wroom, wroom, we hear, Joanne and I both said, "he's arrived"  anyway today he took the next step and drove over the edge, when he knocked the door I opened it to find his left wheel hanging over the edge.  I rang my son in law Dave to come over to give me hand to shift it, Dave had some heavy blocks so he brought them with him, he stood the "jack" on these blocks and lifted the car upwards, far enough so I could get the 2 tonne jack that I had to lift it up, he then slid an old decking board between the edge and the blocks to create a "road", Dave then drove the car off, success!!

Adele Moment

I am now refreshed after my little run around earlier today, I call it my Adele moment, instead of chasing pavements, I was chasing chickens.

Resting now.

See you all soon!!

Funky Chicken

Well that was exciting, just finished breakfast, looked out of the window and there was a chicken in the garden.  Honestly, had a quite night last night, a chicken in the garden, mind you I had to look twice.

Anyway the people three doors up keep them so of I trot to let them know one of their brood had escaped, so while he was getting ready there was me chasing the bloody thing around the garden, armed with some bread trying to catch it.  Well after many attempts to do so, and with not having ever had them as pets I could not get it, Joanne was indoors laughing, it was funny, me doing a workout trying to grab this energetic chicken, I thought if I don't get it soon then instead of pork for dinner, anyway the chap turned up and within 5 minutes it was caught.  His neighbour was watching, he was going to earn himself £250 with a cine camera.

He then said it was his, but he will take it as it had not been looked after, its nails were too long, its wings had not been clipped, so thats how it got into the garden it flew in.  So he is going to look after it and feed it as it was hungry.   Poor thing, and me I am off to have a rest that workout has worn me out, and thats enough excitement on a Sunday morning.

See you all soon!!

Astro Turf

What a horrible day, the weather is bad out there.  Still good day yesterday Man U won so not all bad.

I am hoping the Astro Turf turns up tomorrow as it didn't on Friday like it was suppose to.

Having said that about the weather the Sun has just come out, must have heard me ranting.

See you all soon!!

Recorded TV

Had dinner and we are now relaxing, still got work in my mind as always, done the quote for the astro turf so going to watch some recorded TV this afternoon, cup of coffee and biscuit is in order.  Hope everyone is having a good day, albeit that the weather is not here in Medway.

Going to be good day tomorrow they have promised us, we will wait and see on that.

See you all soon!!

The O2

Sunday Morning, getting ready for relations to turn up, just had breakfast and settling down to a relaxing day.  Dinner to get ready of course, I do the veggies and Joanne does the rest.

Looking ahead to the job next week though, the customer is keeping the concrete fence posts and we are to replace the timber, close boarded sections of around 2.4m long, so making them up on site.  A total of three gates to be installed as well as said in a previous blog.

My daughter Hayley is going to the O2 to see the Michael Jackson  Cirque Du Soleil for the closing night, she has seen the opening night so should be good for her, going with a friend.

Me, I will be watching the X Factor results, did not see the show last night as I think some of the acts are not worth the watch, my favourite is Ella I think she has an amazing voice for someone so young, so I hope she gets through.

See you all soon!!

Winter rates

A very lazy day for me this Sunday I could get use to this, done some filing at last, needed to be done, sorted the receipts and emailed a few people.  Have not done the letters yet I am thinking about what to write. Might ring the Sidcup customer tomorrow instead of writing, a little bit quicker.  Just to see how the land is.

Hope you all like my new Facebook pages, search for them on Facebook   Saw my three girls today and my son in law Dave, they had been swimming and called in on the way back home.

Winter rates are almost here, they start in the middle of November to new customers, so give us a call for even more great value.  As said in a previous blog winter is a great time to makeover the garden ready for the spring, and don't forget its cheaper too.

See you all soon!!

Sunday

Sunday another one of my favourite days of the week, doing some quotes as usual, easy day though. Dinner on the go, so that's good.  Listening to some music, Coldplay in fact, like this group.  Starting on Monday the shed base in Sittingbourne, this is an extra piece of work, a new shed is coming on Friday.

So all in all not a bad day, so far.

See you all soon!!

Pergola Shorne

The server was down a fair bit of this weekend so was not been able to write.  The week ahead is going to be small jobs only, so a bit of everything, brickwork, decking, and a pergola.

Today Sunday has been very quite, like Sundays should be. Watched a DVD and just had a rest.

The bespoke pergola we are to build is in Shorne, its the job we done a while back, the one with two circle patio and many slabs some 450, we are back to build this structure over the small circle patio.  So thats good to be back there again.

See you all soon!!

Long way

Getting ready for the week ahead now, must think what I need to take with me, most of the tools are already on site, best look in the garage in the morning for inspiration .

Long way to come back if I forget something.  Waiting to see the Bolt run in the 100m race.

See you all soon!!

had a good day

It did turn out to be as peaceful as it was earlier, in fact a lovely day, although rained a bit, but all in all a fine day.  Sent off two quotes via email and got one to post.  Looking ahead for tomorrow will lay the bricks and the base I hope, cant see why not.

Using Rutland Oakham Packs in Autumn Blend so will look good when done, watch out for pictures on the site.

See you all soon!!

Peaceful sunday morning

Good morning one and all, lovely day starting, no jobs to visit today so a peaceful morning is in order, just the church bell ringing and the local chickens crowing, no really, one of my neighbours have got some and they crow for about an hour, gives it a country feel, just got to see Mr Fox, and Mrs Squirrel and the days complete. We have these animals come and visit most mornings at the moment its funny that the fox does not worry about the chickens perhaps its not hungry enough. The squirrel comes onto our deck goes across the handrail and off into next door, then later it comes back again.

All the clouds are fluffy and everything is right in the world of MB Garden, watch someone come and destroy it all.

See you all soon!!

Waiting to hear

All in all not a bad weekend, seen two jobs and quoted them.  Waiting to hear if we were successful.  Starting a small patio tomorrow in Gillingham.

See you all soon!!

Peaceful

well another week has passed, looks like the weather is going to plan, been to some step work, no not the group, but concrete and wooden steps to be done in cuxton.

A beautiful setting when its done.  Just had a nice cup of coffee to start the morning, and its so peaceful here at the moment, I am though waiting for that to go as the afternoon draws closer.

Some of the gardens we have done this year have been so delightful in their setting, especially the in shorne, lovely area .

Still you cut your cloth in life and have to live.

See you all soon!!

Work done

Sunday dinner done and now trying to rest before the week ahead, watching the tennis. Hope to get some paperwork done as well but the weekends seem to fly past as does the weeks.

Patios and decking is what we have done more and more this year, closely followed by fencing.

It does help when you have someone who knows how the plan and get things done.

See you al soon!!

Sunday

Sunday morning, and the weather is OK, seeing two more jobs today, local so not too much travelling, a patio and some trellis work.

The final of the euro football today, pity that England is not in it, I reckon Italy will win, good win for Murrey in the tennis.

Going back to sidcup tomorrow to finish laying the deck boards, then on tuesday hopefully the fence materials will turn up.

See you all soon!!

Patience

Today is Sunday and the footy is on at the moment, being fathers day I had a visit from Hayley my daughter, and Amber my Granddaughter.  They bought me a desk usb fan a welcomed gift as I do get hot sometimes doing quotes and the like so it will come in handy.

Where do little ones get their energy from, I suppose the same place we all got it from when we were their age.

Monday is fast approaching and I am really hoping for dry weather as its pointing slabs time, and dry weather is what you need to do this, even the gazebos are no use, because the paving will get wet and thats it for the day or until they dry off.

I cant begin to say, as I already may have said in earlier blogs, how much this weather is holding and ruining the schedules.  At the present I have clients that are understanding the delays, I must thank them for their patience.

See you all soon!!

Repost

Sunday evening again, two quotes done this weekend both for decking, hope to hear from them soon.

As I did the decking cleaner the other day, I thought I might repost this for stains on the patio.  Read on!!

Here is another great tip for cleaning your patio this time. This was given, and I saw the results by one of my customers recently.

If you have the metal type of table and chairs, the iron ones, and the weather has left a rust stain on your patio, then this does work.
A plastic bottle of Household Ammonia, this is not bleach, will lift the stain right off. Used neat on the stain and rub the slabs gently to remove the rust stain. Then leave to dry and rinse off.

See you all soon!!!

Sunday

Not a very great day out there at the moment raining quite hard.  Very quite Sunday morning, should hear the church bells soon though.

Still we do need the rain, but could it stop tomorrow when we are working, got another digger coming and it makes all the difference on a dry day.

See you all soon!!

Amber

Sunday morning, have done one quote need to type up the second soon, and the decking and third quote to do, will do it this afternoon.

Just had a visit from my Daughter Hayley and granddaughter Amber, Amber was full of beans, so cute though.

Going to have dinner now so

see you all soon!!

Sunday Evenings

Sunday evening, I usually dislike this time of the weekend but today is different hope you are all having a great time.

Done many things today, quotes as standard, listings on the adverts I have running, facebook, twitter and made various cups of coffee.

See you all soon!!

Dinner and Quote

Just about to have my sunday dinner and then one more quote to do, this is another driveway in Rainham Kent.

See you all soon!!!

A message

The winter months are nearly here, although you would not think so at the moment with this warm weather we are having.  Having finished the small patio on Friday we are starting a new scheme in walderslade chatham on Monday 14th Nov, this is a large timber deck in two tiers, with handrails at the end of the second tier, railway sleeper retaining wall, a 150mm block wall, small amount of concreting, and some trellis work.  should take about two weeks to complete.  We are waiting to hear from two other people when we can start their garden, so in all not a bad end to what has been an interesting year.  Acheived a lot this year, done some great work and met some lovely people, one in particular as monetuioned in an earlier blog, Kirsty.   Looking forward to hearing from you all soon, and as said in an earlier blog, i believe 2012 is going to be a great year.  Keep landscaping!!

see you all soon!!

Darker Nights

Well another Sunday evening, and what a month October has been, great weather, which has help us do our work.  Lets hope it continues into November. !!    The trouble is that we all want a garden room to be proud of, somewhere to be on our own, away from the TV and in silience.  Well we can all have this anytime, we have created so many garden rooms, and given our customers the space they needed.  With the darker nights coming along now, what is more important is to have that weekend time in the garden, and with the garden lights we have installed in many gardens, they can now still have the silence into the night sky.

See you soon!!

Sunday

Well Sunday again!!  just watched Xfactor great result as far I am concerned Janet got through, I love her voice and would buy her records.

Two more concreting sections to lay and thats the job finished, I hope the weather holds.

See you all soon!!

Printer

well I just got a new wireless and it works great, took a little setting up but worth it, no more wires trailing all over the place and the print cartritages are very cheap just £6 for the black and £14 colour.  Kodak printer very good.

Apart from that we have had a great week, we had 10 tonnes of ballast delivered loose, took us the best part of the day to take it through to the garden.  Started to mix it up now.   Built the fence as well, so not a bad week.

see you all soon!!

Sunday

Another week has gone too fast. Still at strood all finished in the rear garden so starting the front next, paving over an area so it is easier to walk upon.  Got Shaun the rubbish Man there ready to take off site, he will take everything away fromthe front.  Then we can get on with the base and paving.

Sunday Evening feeling not too baqd this week as got some prices to do so tharts keeping me ocupied.

see you all soon !!

Sunday

today was a good day getting use to the new laptop.  Sorted two quotes, just one more to go, the biggest.

watched X Factor and then recorded Downton Abbey.

Its Funny this must the first sunday for a long time where I have not got that sunday night feeling.

Must be something wrong.

see you all soon!!

What a weekend

Well an eventful weekend, it all statred with my desktop computer blowing up on friday, made a clicking noise and then started to smoke, first the mouse would not work then the whole thing just blew.  I had been thinking of getting a new laptop for a while so this was the decider.  So at last I am up to date, not bad for 59 year old.  Got it from Tesco gillingham lovely laptop, Acer Aspire, 6gb Ram and 750 gb memory  all the other facts and figures are over my head but it is quick.

Started a great job last week, a patio front and back, this one is for a family in Medway, they have a brave young lady as there daughter.  The work is for her, she was left blind in one eye and partial in the other after an horific crash she is without doubt a special and brave young lady and it is our pleasure to do the work. After montyhs of plastic surgery and other visits to hospital she has come through it all.

And then today Sunday my Dad would have been 93 I heard from my daughter that her cat had passed away at the top of the steps outside where he always slept.  So my dad has a new companion.

Looking forward to this week.     Ps I have got to get a mouse, not use to this pad thing on the laptop!

see you all soon!!

Husky

Hello a great week.  Finished a huge garden in Rainham on Friday, the main product was Astro Turf, all 32 metres of it. Looks great see the picture on the site home page.  The brickwall around the pond was built by Neil Pocock my second in command.  A great job Neil.  The weather played its part last week and this week coming we are in Chatham laying a patio.  The customer has a huge dog, a husky I think, his head is up to waist.  But I have told he is lovely, I say he it might be a she, guess I will find out tomorrow.  Still being a husky it might help us pull the materials through to the garden.  Anyone got a sleigh I can borrow.   See you soon!!

Sunday

what a week again, the weather was horrible, slowed us a little, 8 tonnes of crushed concrete being delivered on Wednesday, happy days.  Getting the paperwork done over this bank holiday. Boring I know.  Astro Turf delivery on Wednesday as well, bet they all come at the same time.  On a funny note we had a Phil and Grant lookalike "talk" to us on Friday, saying get off my drive way, well I say drive way its the the kind of area people park and go shopping I guess, its not actually a drive like a normal driveway its part of the road if you see what I mean, so the deliveries might be a little stressed.  Besides he has not got vehicle to park there so what is the problem.  Jealously of what we are doing for the customer in their garden.  Oh well roll on Tuesday, Eastenders is on that day as well so might not see him.

Sunday

Hello all, hope you had a great weekend, mine has the same old, shopping and quotes, went to see my daughter Hayley and Granddaughter Amber, Son in law dave they had been on holiday. Lovely pictures of Cornwall.

Got a busy week coming along, handrails on the deck, top the wall, and prepare the ground ready for Astro turf.   Soon be Friday!!  see you all soon!

Sunday

What a week, on my own got a lot done though, weather was ok and played its part.  Replacing some deck boards, the new Bo wrench worked well,  got my chap back with me tomorrow so I can have a breather.  The deck looks cleaner and fresh.

Sunday

Hello another week has past. Got a great job next week, 158 deck boards to lay ad secure down, its a replacement of boards all the frame is done so looking forward to doing this one.  Hope the weather holds. My other chap Neil is on Holiday so on my own.

See you all soon!!

Sunday

Hi its the end of the weekend again, Lovely weather today hot at last.  Searching for a while about gardening in past years and how they used to do things, not much different than today actually.  Been a good week finished the Walderslade job and moving back to Lords Wood to finish that. Then onto Rainham to build a new fence.

Happy Days!!

Sunday Mess

This Sunday was a bit different, had to stop a leak in the guttering, got some spray from B&Q, looks good, what a messy thing to use, went everywhere, still cleared up ok.

Oh the leak, well thats still there, will have another go tomorrow, need to build up the layer I think.

Apart from that excitement, has not a bad weekend.  Start of a new week, still waiting for this hardwood Decking to turn up, this is getting a bit boring now.

See you all soon!!

Interesting Week

Hello Sunday Again.  I have had an interesting week you might say, I was let down by a supplier of hardwood Deck Boards, so had to leave the job unfinished, which I really hate doing, the customer was so kind and supporting, so have to go back and do that, had numerous phone calls, some with work which is great others from Advertising companies who seemed to think I am made of money, saying they can get me on page one of Google, they obviously don't look at the internet as I am already on page one.

Still starting a Deck and patio job in Lords Wood Monday, until the Hardwood turns up.

Happy Days see you all soon!!
